The film tells the story of two childhood friends, Chun-young and Lee Jung-ryu, who find themselves on opposite sides during the Japanese invasion of Korea in the 16th century. Chun-young, a former slave with exceptional fighting skills, becomes the leader of a civilian militia, while Lee Jung-ryu becomes a military officer close to King Sunjo. The story unfolds to reveal their personal struggles amidst the chaos of war.
